NATA Ogun State hosts Road Safety Seminar, Usage of Genuine Engine Oil Advocacy


The Comrade Adeleke Balogun led Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Ogun State Chapter will host the next edition of the wave making Road Safety Seminar and Usage of Genuine Engine Oil Advocacy for Nigerian Automotive Stakeholders on Thursday 26th November, 2020.

Though billed to have held early in the year; but for the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic that ravaged the world and which led to the lock-down of the country; the NATA Ogun State Chapter officials and members continued to yearn for the staging of the program in the state before the year runs out.

Comrade Samuel Oloyede Oriowo, the chief promoter of the initiative revealed that “the project is a nation-wide one; which has held at different times in Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Edo and Ekiti States.

He noted that the program is to create awareness among the Nigerian Automotive Technicians to their anticipated responsibilities in making vehicles actually road worthy in order to possibly eliminate in totality; ugly occurrences; such as break-downs and crashes on the Nigerian Roads; mostly due to shoddy vehicle handling during repair/maintenance sessions.

Rampant usage of sub-standard, adulterated engine oils by stakeholders, most especially auto technicians charged with the periodic oil change is also one of the pivotal focuses of the initiative, according to Comrade Oriowo, who is also the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of NATA News Magazine and

Expected as the Distinguished Guest of Honour at the event is the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun; while Honourable Elemide Oludaisi, the Chairman, House Committee on Transport, Ogun State House of Assembly is billed to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.

Other eminent personalities expected to grace the occasion include; Engr. Gbenga Dairo

(Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation), Mr. Ogunyemi (Chief Executive/Corps Commandant, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency), Mr. Hammed Abodunrin (Commandant, Ogun State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) and Mr. Umesh Malik (Lubes GM, 11 Plc).

While Engr. Gboyega Ademehin (Ogun State Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer) is to present a paper on “Attitudinal Change towards Effective Vehicle Repair/Maintenance by Drivers, Owners & the Technicians,” Engr. Fatai Adefala (Director, Ogun State Fire Service) will speak on: Fire: A Friend or an Enemy?  And How to combat its breakout in Vehicles and Auto Repair Workshops.”
