As the term in office of the current Executive Council of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) under the leadership of Comrade Jacob Omonide Fayeun comes to an end on 27th September, 2021, election to fill the posts therein is slated for 28th October, 2021.
Accordingly, the duo of NATA National Vice President for South-West Zone, Comrade (Alhaji) Adebayo Jimoh Kolawole and his General Secretary, Comrade Amos Oyerinde had paid an unscheduled visit to the August, 2021 State General Meeting of the association to intimate the members about the intentions of the NATA National Secretariat to conduct election to fill the Executive Council.
So far Comrades Morufu Alamu Egberongbe (current State Vice Chairman), Bolaji Shafi Okiji (current State Financial Secretary) and Yekini Adekunle Aremu (current State General Secretary) have shown interest in contesting for the post of State Chairman in the election and had purchased necessary forms from the NATA National Secretariat.
But in a dramatic summersault, Comrades Yekini Adekunle Aremu and Bolaji Shafi Okiji have teamed up to prosecute the ‘war’ with both going into the election as Chairman and Vice Chairman, respectively to the consternation of stakeholders in the state.

Meanwhile Comrades Morufu Alamu Egberongbe and Yekini Adekunle Aremu have formed teams; preparing vigorously and have begun state-wide electioneering campaigns to woo would-be voters; to bless them; respectively with their precious votes.
Comrade Morufu Alamu Egberongbe is leading the team tagged; the Progressives, while Comrade Yekini Adekunle Aremu is leading the Formidable, as he tagged his team; which he selected across the NATA LGA/LCDA Branches in the state.
The glimpse of hints of how voters will be spread across the state points to about 10 Voters to be selected per (originally recognised) Local Governments in Lagos State, Nigeria.
